The new city of Oxford, from above
A modern street
An old street looks like this
...or like this.
But the very old streets, since Middle Ages, are very, very narrow.
Hertford College entrance, and Bhaskar, my kind host.
"The Oxford Bridge" , a kind of city mascot, belongs also to Hertford College. Its purpose is very clear during the rainy weather, when one have to go from one building to another.
Natural History Museum entrance.
Inside main hall, Nat.Sci. Museum.
A very nice statue of Indra, with an enigmatic, yet serene smile. (Nat.Sci. Mus.)
Australopithecus Afarensis, a.k.a. "Lucy", one of the oldest known hominids. (cast, Nat. Sci. Mus.)
Penicillin samples The text: An early specimen of penicillin, dated 22 March 1942. About 150 flask cultures were needed to produce this amount of penicillin. Early problems with contamination were solved by using chromatography to produce purer samples. The first patients to be treated were at Oxford's Radcliffe Infirmary. Almost miraculous recoveries from apartently fatal infections demonstrated the therapeutic value of the antibiotic. So precious were early stocks of penicillin that to avoid wastage it was recovered from patients' urine.

Bhaskar, inside his Dept.
On the same suspended modern bridge.
Blackwell Publishing - the store entrance is innocuous and small. But inside there are huge rooms and endless book stockpiles.
This is just the basement of the Blackwell Store.
Christ Church College. Very famous recently because its buildings were used in Harry Potter movie.
Inside Christ Church College.
A dark gallery inside Christ Church College.
