Winter, January 2004. This is Cerna River, in SW Romania, Herculane (where one can find old Roman Thermae)
In August 2004 I had a small research project at MaxPlanck for Biophysics, Frankfurt, Germany. This is a German Sky!
"Fraport" the sweet name of Frankfurt Airport.
Welcome to the MPIBP Institut.
The main building of MPIBP
The main hall of MPIBP. It was almost empty and quiet because of summer vacation. The roof is glass-made (and some of the walls) and it is very bright inside.
Frankfurt city, as seen from MPIBP. These tiny buildings are actualy some big skyscrapers.
My BLM (Black Lipid Membrane) machine.
PC 640. The frong says : "Never ever give up!"
One weekend at a small artificial lake ("Badesee") next to Frankfurt.
There is also some sand-shore.
....and some BIG fishes in the water, close to swimmers.
...and some happy ducks.
After bathing together with wild animals, it was the right time for a barbecue.
Portugese grill. Very impressive and tasty. (the fuel for the fire is pure alcohol )
Last weekend in August I visited Heidlberg together with some friends. This is picture of the edge of the medieval castle.
The city of Heidelberg (part of it) as seen from the castle.
Hmmmmm. What to visit first? Where to go?
The (almost) intact wall of the Castle, from inside.
Rock carving.
Real Gothic arches and vaults.
The Wine Cellar of the Castle. Unbelievable! 221 thousands of liters of wine in a single barrel. This one was two floors high, and I couldn't take a full picture of it.
Another huge barrel, only four meters high though.
