2007 - current; Assistant Professor, Medical University in Bucharest (UMF), Biophysics Dept.
2004-2006 full-time; 2007 - 2008: collaboration; Researcher in Max Planck Institute in Brain Research - Psychophysics Laboratory (Frankfurt am Main, Germany). The focus of my work here was the analysis and simulation of complex visual distortions in amblyopic patients; PhD thesis on the subject, submitted.
2004 Master of Science in Medical Engineering, "Politehnica University" in Bucharest, Romania; thesis on emergent phenomena in cellular automata.
2002 Medical University in Bucharest (UMF), Romania, with a Diploma Thesis in Biophysics.

(2004) member in the design team of "Intuitext" e-learning platform (Softwin SRL)
(2002 - 2004) one of the founding members of the non-profit organization "AIM" (Association "Internet For Medicine" in Bucharest). [volunteering]
(2003) project coordinator for "Unismart" e-learning platform (BSUF, Bucharest)
(2001) Creation and maintaining the web site of UMFCD - Biophysics Dept., hosting free e-courses for medical students. [volunteering]

What I like

addicted to ice-skating :). Unfortunately one has to wait and wait and wait for the winter...
I really love to draw! In particular I like to make fun visual special effects in 3D.
Recently I started my apprenticeship to become a Flame Fractalist. Wuh? what's that, doc? Well, it's a way of spending time diving in the beautiful and mysterious imagery generated by changing fractal projections.... In plain English: drawing effortlessly and aimlessly with a toy like Apophysis.
also addicted beyond recovery to Educational Aikido.
favorite activity: cloud-spotting (lying on the back, doing nothing really, watching the passing clouds).
